Darryl’s positive attitude, friendly nature and infectious sense of humour have made him a much-loved part of the team.

The Sydney Municipal team recently celebrated Darryl Durkin’s 25 years of service with Cleanaway. Since September 1995, Darryl has dedicated his career to Cleanaway’s municipal contracts and over this time, he has provided services to many Western Sydney residents.

During his tenure, Darryl has serviced several LGAs including Penrith, Blacktown, Hawkesbury, Canada Bay, Parramatta, Hornsby and The Hills. He has operated numerous types of vehicles including rear lift and side lift collection vehicles of various makes and models.

Darryl’s commitment to and knowledge of the industry saw him step into a supervisor role to manage the operations of the Parramatta and Hornsby contracts for almost ten years. Recently, Darryl made the decision to go back to his roots and jump back into a truck where he is at his happiest – on the frontline, interacting with residents and members of the public.

Darryl’s positive attitude, friendly nature and infectious sense of humour have made him a much-loved part of the team. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and pass on the knowledge that he has learnt during his time at Cleanaway.

Not only does Darryl shine at Cleanaway, but after work he spends countless hours assisting in the Rural Fire Services (RFS). Darryl spent several weeks volunteering during the most recent bushfire season and on behalf of all affected, we thank him and his fellow RFS volunteers for their efforts.

Thank you for your 25 years of service, Darryl. We look forward to many more years with you.
