Used oil collection disposal and recycling

Waste oil such as engine, hydraulic, and used lube oil must be disposed of in a safe and trackable manner. Used oil and its related waste are strictly regulated. Unlike most materials, used oil can be re-refined into new base and fuel oils, which can be reused repeatedly. The Product Stewardship for Oil Scheme encourages the increased collection and recycling of waste oils (also known as sump oil), closing the loop on oils based on petroleum and synthetics such as:

• Lubricant base oils
• Prepared lubricant additives containing carrier oils
• Engine lubricants, gear sets, pumps and bearings
• Hydraulic oil
• Brake fluids
• Transmission oils

Used oil must be collected and managed by a company that holds the relevant licences required by the state’s Environmental Regulator. Cleanaway is a certified trackable waste transporter. We have systems in place to electronically track your waste oil disposal so you can easily report to your local authority as required.

Our extensive fleet of waste oil collection tankers can service your individual requirements – from small 6,000 litre tankers and flat deck trucks for drums to AB-Triple combinations that can remove up to 80,000 litres of waste oil. We are also certified to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and AS 4801 (OHS) standards, helping you reduce your risk profile.

We provide both scheduled and on-call used oil pickup services. Alternately, used oils can also be dropped off at participating facilities by prior appointment. Please be aware that different state regulations limit the volume that can be transported without a licence.
